Our Beloved Thomas Achen is stepping down as the Vicar of our church on Dec. 01, 2010.

As you may have heard, our beloved Vicar, Rev. Fr. M.K. Thomas (Thomas Achen), has announced that he will be stepping down from his responsibilities at St. Gregorios Orthodox Church, Oak Park, effective December 1, 2010. Since 1994, our parish and the Chicagoland region have been blessed by the extraordinary leadership and ministry of Thomas Achen. He has touched the hearts of many people by sharing God’s love and worked tirelessly for the ministry God called him to do here. At this time, we would like to express our love and gratitude to Thomas Achen for his dedication and selfless service.

All of you are cordially invited to attend a celebration we are hosting to honor Thomas Achen’s 16 years of faithful service to our Church and to the Chicagoland area. The celebration will be held at St. Gregorios Orthodox Church on Sunday, November 28th, with the Holy Qurbana starting at 10 am followed by the program at 1:30pm. We also invite you to join us for a luncheon before the program in the church basement starting at noon.

By the grace of God, this region was blessed to have had such an inspiring spiritual father, and we hope you will join us in celebrating his ministry and ask that you please continue to keep Thomas Achen in your prayers.

Please spread the word and feel free to invite anyone we might have missed.
